Trezor.io/Start is the official starting point for initializing a new Trezor hardware wallet. It provides step-by-step instructions to help users install the required software, verify device authenticity, create a secure wallet, and back up recovery information safely.
Using the official setup process ensures your device firmware is authentic and your private keys remain offline and protected from malware, phishing attempts, and unauthorized access.
Before starting the setup, carefully inspect your Trezor package. The box should arrive sealed and untampered. Inside, you will find the Trezor hardware wallet, a USB cable, recovery seed cards, and user instructions.
Check that the device does not show signs of prior use. A new Trezor device does not come preconfigured with a recovery seed. If a recovery phrase is already provided, do not use the device and contact official support immediately.
To begin the setup process, connect your Trezor hardware wallet to your computer using the supplied USB cable. Once connected, the device screen will power on and display instructions to proceed.
